Audrey is a maker, designer, entrepreneur, researcher, educator, participator, & iterative ideator based in central Virginia. She believes in the power of collaboration. Audrey founded her own design consultancy, Audrey Barnes | Design, in 2006, where she works with clients ranging from non-profits & start-ups to multi-national corporations to develop inventive, meaningful, responsible products & strategies at the intersection of business, culture & the environment. She is a co-founder of the Perennials Project, an ongoing collaborative film & research project that explores individuals & communities working toward a sustainable future by bridging societal divides.  She holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from NC State University & a Master of Industrial Design from Rhode Island School of Design where her thesis focused on empowering diverse socio-economic groups through growing food.

You can often find her covered in sawdust in the wood shop, growing food out of her apartment windows, playing music with her husband James, or behind the lens of the camera.
